From their formation in 1991, Refused shattered genre conventions and redefined what heavy music could be - both sonically and politically. Their fearless blend of hardcore, punk, and experimental sounds inspired generations of artists across hardcore, alt-rock, and metal to expand the boundaries of their own creative and ideological expression.
